Bollocks and Barack

“Former Inspector General Gerald Walpin’s determination to investigate further the alleged misuse of AmeriCorps funds may have led President Obama to fire him, a Republican member of the board overseeing the volunteer agency alleged to a Washington newspaper. If true, the assertion contradicts an explanation provided by White House, which said Walpin, 77, was “confused” and “disoriented” at a recent meeting of the board, exhibited a “lack of candor” and “engaged in other troubling and inappropriate conduct.””

A couple of years ago, I was bullied out of my job at a Marriott hotel. I won’t go into specifics, but suffice it say the new management wanted new subordinates. At employee meetings, I somehow became the voice of the group addressing our expectation of raises after the property transitioned fully into a Marriott from the Radisson.

Instead of raises or even cordial, civil discussions, my hours were dropped from 40 hours per week to 8 per week (on my usual day-off no less). Of course, management denied any sort of a hidden agenda. They even fired all of the housekeepers that had been there for years rather than give them their due. That’s bad business for you.

President Obama is not naive to such tactics. His years in Chicago are filled with such situations. Just do a little research into how he won the Senate race in ’96.

Now, the stink of Inspector General Gerald Walpin’s termination is only increasing. It wreaks of Marriott/Chicago-style bollocks.
